Empowered Birth - Birth Education with Dr Sura

Welcome to Empowered Birth.  I am so happy you are here. It is my mission to help you align to your power and wisdom during pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

During the Empowered Birth course, we prepare you to give birth in a way that supports you and your baby’s wellbeing - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Physical Prep

• Practice the most effective birth positions to help your baby come out with ease.

• Practice hands on comfort techniques with your partner to help you feel supported while increasing comfort and relaxation.

• Learn optimal positions for pushing.

• Practice breathing exercises to help maximize connection, presence and ease.

Mental Prep

• Reframe and transform your relationship with pain.

• Develop key words and affirmations to align with your power.

• Understand the benefits and risks of birth preferences and interventions.

• Know your rights.

Emotional Prep

• Learn practices to help clear your emotional body.

• Understand how emotions effect birth so you can make choices in preparation to support your emotional wellbeing.

• Learn & practice relaxation and opening techniques for an easier birth.

• Identify and claim what feeling safe looks like for you to set the stage for a smooth birth experience.

• Learn how best to support birthing hormones for greater ease during birth and postpartum.

Spiritual Prep 

• Meditate to better connect with your baby.

• Embrace your primal woman and your birth power.

• Rehearse the art of surrender during birth to support the emergence of your birth power.

Hello, Congrats on the upcoming birth of your baby!  I am Dr Sura - a holistic women’s health chiropractor and the birth educator of Empowered Birth. I help people align to their power and wisdom during pregnancy, birth and motherhood so they may best support themselves and their babies to be healthy, happy and strong. I created this birth education program to provide holistic information and support to expectant individuals and families.

Giving birth is an incredible opportunity to awaken more deeply to one’s power and natural instincts.  Your birth power is spiritual power rooted in your body. It is where the spiritual meets the physical.  The practices in the Empowered Birth program are designed to support pregnant person’s alignment to body, mind, heart and spirit for a smooth labor. These teachings are transformative and help people step into their power and prepare more holistically for the rite of passage into motherhood and fatherhood.

I have had the incredible joy of working with pregnant and postpartum people now for over a decade.  I have supported many women through blissful births and births that did not go as planned.  My hope is to take the wisdom imparted on me and give you the opportunity to prepare yourself for the most transformative, positive and empowering birthing experience possible.
